You can get started by completing my contact form. Once I receive your message, I’ll review the information you share and respond within 2-3 business days. From there, we can talk through availability, fit, insurance/payment details, and next steps for scheduling.
The first session is a chance for us to start getting comfortable with each other and learning more about what brings you to therapy. We may talk through current concerns, relevant history, goals, and what kind of support feels most helpful.
Depending on your comfort level and needs, therapy may also include creative, play-based, mindful, or other non-verbal ways of exploring and expressing what’s coming up. You do not need to have everything figured out before coming in. We can start wherever you are.
I offer therapy for clients located in Michigan. Sessions may be available in person (Portage, MI), virtually, or a combination of both depending on scheduling, clinical needs, and availability.
When meeting virtually, I use adaptive ways to incorporate play, creativity, mindfulness, and non-verbal approaches into telehealth so sessions can still feel engaging and supportive.
I work with pre-teens/teens, young adults, and adults. For minors, parent or caregiver involvement may be part of treatment when appropriate, while still honoring the client’s need for privacy and trust in the therapy space.
I support clients with concerns such as chronic illness/pain, body image/self-esteem, identity exploration, traumatic experiences, relationship stress, emotion regulation, and life transitions. If you are unsure whether your concern is something I can support, I am happy to discuss further with you!
Session frequency depends on your needs, goals, availability, and clinical recommendations. Many clients begin with weekly or every-other-week sessions, and we can adjust over time as your needs change.
Therapy may be shorter-term for specific concerns or more ongoing for deeper, long-standing patterns or trauma. My goal is to support a pace that feels meaningful and sustainable while also helping you build trust in yourself outside of therapy.
Therapy costs depend on whether you are using insurance or paying privately. Self-pay rates and insurance information are listed on the Rates & Insurance page. If you are using insurance, your out-of-pocket cost may depend on your specific plan, deductible, copay, or coinsurance.
I understand that life happens and unexpected things come up. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours notice whenever possible.
I try to approach occasional late cancellations or missed appointments with flexibility and understanding. If late cancellations, missed appointments, or frequent rescheduling become a pattern, we may need to talk together about whether the current appointment time or frequency is still working.
A $60 fee may apply for late cancellations or missed appointments. This policy will be reviewed in your intake paperwork.
Yes, therapy is confidential. There are some legal and ethical limits to confidentiality, including concerns related to safety, abuse or neglect, or situations where records are required by law. We will review confidentiality and its limits together during the intake process.
Note for teens + their families:
Having a confidential space is an important part of building trust and feeling safe enough to be honest in therapy. I ask parents/caregivers to respect this privacy while also understanding that safety comes first.
When it may be helpful or necessary to involve a parent/caregiver, I try to work with the teen around what needs to be shared and how to share it. If there is a safety concern or disclosure is legally or ethically required, I will share the necessary information.
